If one is to make sense of the turmoil in the middle East, this is an essential book to put things in perspective. Robert Baer, the author, is a former CIA agent for the United States whose territory was the middle East. He provides insights on the forces shaping that part of the world from a global perspective. When a substantial amount of the world's oil output is centered in a particular region, you can bet that it's worth your while to understand what's happening there. We think this author is amongst the best informed out there.
We REALLY like this book. It's the story of a world financial disaster and the people who saw it coming, people who, in a manner of speaking positioned themselves to go surfing profitably on a world financial tsunami. We also really like the author's other works, and he's done a great job of giving us a snapshot of the murky, mega-self-interested world of Wall Street. He's a lot of fun to read.

To countries where maybe the hotel won't carry your local sports team's game, news, weather, or not many channels at all in your favorite language. So.....apart from the clear point that you can see the world's TV channels from over 50 countries on your laptop, consider also that leaving home won't seem so much like leaving home, TV-wise.
